Woku Tongkol

Actually, i intend to cook this meal for my family potluck party yesterday. But this morning I had to bring my children to be immunized so i had not had time to cook it.

This the first time i cook the woku and we are quite satisfied with the result 😛 Here’s the recipe that has been modified:


  • 1 kg of tongkol (or you also can use tuna), cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 5 lime leaves
  • 1 turmeric leaves, sliced
  • 2 stalks lemongrass, sliced
  • 3 green tomatoes, chopped
  • 300 ml water
  • 2 bunch basil leaves
  • 2 leeks, sliced thick
  • 5 tablespoon cooking oil


  • 8 pieces of green chillies
  • 8 para candlenuts
  • 2 cm turmeric
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 2 teaspoons salt


  1. Marinate fish in lime juice, keep it an hour, half-baked fries, set aside
  2. Grind all the spices
  3. Saute the spices
  4. Add lime leaves, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, and tomatoes
  5. Add the fish and water
  6. Reduce heat and cook until fish is cooked
  7. Add leeks and cook until wilted
  8. Add lime juice and basil leaves, stir
  9. Serve
